Business Process Outsourcing or BPO jobs are very popular in India as our country is one of the most popular nations for outsourcing services. But, according to NASSCOM, the IT BPO sector is considered as one of the largest employers in the countryemploying almost 3.5 million professionals. There are 15-20% of specialized professionals in BPO jobs. These include engineers, accountants, scientists, lawyers, doctors among others.There is also the myth that BPO jobs are only for college graduates. But, according to India Skills Report, 80% of the company prefer to hire highly skilled professionals below 30 years. So, young, fresh graduates as well as senior experienced professionals can join BPO companies.
  • BPO jobs are easy to get and are meant for those who are not career focused: This is also a myth. According to Nasscom, the BPO industry/employers spend time and money in training and career development to create professional experts and leaders internally. There are many structured educational programs and ‘Learn while you Earn’ programs to help fulfil the career goals of employees. And also, BPO jobs are “easier to find” but not “easy to get”.
